Learn the social media score from the London Symphony Orchestra

Here’s an organisation that knows the social media score – the London Symphony Orchestra has been picked as one of the top 11 non-profit organisations standing out from the social media crowd.

According to Heather Mansfield, who runs the highly informative blog Nonprofit Tech 2.0, there’s some great social media food for thought to be had from the likes of Amnesty International (you’d expect them to be at the cutting edge) and the London Symphony Orchestra (somehow didn’t expect them to be playing lead violin).

The lessons we can learn from all 11 featured in the blog post below are not just for non-profit organisations 😉 Read on for the full low-down or here’s my take on it in  two sentences:

1. Get your graphic design right (avatar, blog backgrounds etc) – first impressions really count

2. Get your content right (that old chestnut) – think about what people actually want to read, and will want to share
